I'm Jewlz Ellem

As a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Company Secretary, I launched Catalyst Plus to provide vital risk management and wealth creation advice often missed by small businesses. Despite early success, I found myself working over 60 hours a week for a fraction of my corporate salary, leading to personal life struggles and misery.

However, in three years, I turned things around: I boosted my salary by $150k per annum, reduced my working hours to less than 20 per week, and continued to grow my business’s turnover and results.

My Story

Determined to make my mark, I embarked on an accounting career, dreaming of global adventures. Post-graduation, I envisioned a future brimming with success. However, reality struck with student loan repayments, high city living costs, and the pressures of further studies amidst long working hours in a bustling city, far from my idyllic country roots.

This challenging phase sparked a feeling of frustration, yet surrendering my ambitions was not an option. I ventured into entrepreneurship, drawing inspiration from icons like Kerry Packer and Richard Branson. My journey led me to the UK, where I tripled my income in similar roles, accelerating my savings for my first property.

Upon returning home, the relentless profit chase in corporate environments and witnessing small business struggles fueled my desire for change. Thus, Catalyst Plus was born. Yet, my habitual long hours soon took a toll on my life, teaching me crucial lessons in balance and success.

Why I Do It

Growing up, financial literacy was an unfamiliar concept, overshadowed by phrases like 'money doesn't grow on trees' and 'hard work pays off.' My parents, diligent in providing for us, taught me the basics of saving, yet it felt like an endless struggle against the diminishing value of money.

This early exposure to financial hardship ignited my ambition to seek better, more effective financial strategies. Despite these efforts, I found myself burdened by debt and overwhelmed by the demanding hours of my business.

However, the tide turned when I became debt-free while working less than 20 hours a week, focusing on the most fulfilling aspects of my business. This personal breakthrough revealed potent methods that could benefit others in similar situations, who lacked the foundational financial knowledge.

Driven by this revelation, I dedicated myself to guiding people towards establishing healthy business and financial practices, empowering them to build better lives for themselves and their families.
